Democrat wins by 9% margin.
Why? Voter self interest in chanelling federal funds to their ill funded universal health care system.

Keep in mind that there are three democrat candidates running on the same ticket: Coakley, Obama, and Ted Kennedy. A lot of people will vote for one of those even if they don't like the others. There's only one republican running.

He's still running, but isn't likely to get many votes. He's not related to Ted Kennedy, his last name just happens to be Kennedy.

I'm predicting Brown winning by a few thousand votes, a hand recount, a trunkload of missing absentee ballots found, a bunch of ballots thrown out favoring brown, and finally a judge determining coakley should win the seat because teds seat should go to someone that will continue his 'legacy'. >:(  (deja vu all over again?) Welcome to the new american standard of politics.

I wonder how many dead people are going to vote for the democrat in this election.

Maybe as many as 116,000.

Watchdog Group Raises Concern About Dead Voters on Massachusetts Rolls

A conservative watchdog group on Tuesday blasted the Massachusetts secretary of state for dismissing concerns about the thousands of dead voters potentially on the rolls as living voters head to the polls in the high-stakes special election for U.S. Senate.

A conservative watchdog group on Tuesday blasted the Massachusetts secretary of state for dismissing concerns about the thousands of dead voters potentially on the rolls as living voters head to the polls in the high-stakes special election for U.S. Senate.

Though one study reportedly found as many as 116,000 dead voters on the rolls in the state, William Galvin, who oversees elections, said the dead voters are removed from the voter lists.
"These are conservative groups who don't know anything about this state," he said, according to The Boston Herald.

But Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson said Galvin should take the issue much more seriously considering the weight of Tuesday's special election.

"Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin has chosen to ridicule those concerned" about the dead voters on the rolls, he said in a written statement. "With so much at stake in his state and throughout the nation in today's election, one would expect him to be more serious and less cynical. After all, it's his job."

Americans for Limited Government was referring to a study conducted in October by data firm Aristotle International Inc. that found more than 16 million registered voters had either died or moved. Massachusetts had a particularly high number.

CNSNews.com reported that the Bay State had 116,483 dead registered voters, and 538,567 registered voters who had moved away from their listed addresses. The data apparently did not reflect end-of-year purges that states sometimes do to get rid of the excess names.

But the Herald reported that one conservative group was stirring concern by suggesting Coakley supporters and liberal groups like ACORN could pose as dead people to vote for the Democratic candidate.

"We guard the rights of voters here," Galvin said.

I'd really, really like to see a Libertarian win, but this is Massachusetts - they can barely get Repubs.

But given the de facto choice - I hope the Repub wins; then the Dems can whine because they only have a NINE SEAT MARGIN in the senate instead of their we'll do whatever the F*** we want to do! margin.

My understanding is both Repub and Dem candidates are attorneys, which means I spit on them. One is a prosecutor, the other a divorce lawyer.

both professions on about the same moral plane as a abortionist
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Scott Brown has taken Ted Kennedy's seat by a slim margin. Guess the independents have woken up and could see another Democrat in there was bad medicine for the Massachusetts citizens. Yes, about time!! :)

I'D SAY IT WAS A HUUUUUUUUUUUGE WIN  for everyone. you have to know that only 1 in 8 voters in Mass was a republican!

Not sure what the win accomplishes..  Dems still have an easy 51 votes ,

Perhaps the most positive thing the Brown win did was

1. disallow the stoppage of a filibuster. (remember Bush had far less than 60 and still managed to pass legislature).
2. Send a message to DC  - All of America , everyday people  - Dems, repubs. and progs alike are all tired of political partisanship BS.
3. Force all bck to the table to actually fix the issues , HC included. and pass meaningful legislation
(all are in agreement  -  what we have for HC now  is not sustainable into our children's future lifetime).
4.  I am just plain fed up with a non working Gov't irregardless of political affiliations.
either Senate and House work together to solve all the tough issues .. or take your pails and shovels
and move down the beach so grownups can.

On a personal note:  on December 31st I made X number of $$ .. On January 1st New HC plan kicked in and my take home pay is now 103.00 lighter a month due to increase In HC. (Same exact coverage as previous years plan except  -  this year they charge me more , and now cover less than previous year.

What a difference a single day made.
