Chris, You're very welcome.
I thought it was cool also to be able to see when the Rugers we have were built. It amazes me that I have some of the ones I have for so long already. Time sure does fly when having fun with guns.

Franz, thanks for the site.   From it I figured out the Ruger International, that looks like it just came from the factory is actually 20 years old!

I have a Super Blackhawk serial 81-28xxx. My wife bought this for a Christmas present  30/31 years ago.  It has a very high finish (kinda like a Browning), is this gun something special because the finish is alot different than the later years.
Thanks
Gary

Good find Franz,

Imagine my surprise when my old New Model 357 BH serial number was not listed.  Got to think about that.

I would give them a shout and inquire as to why it isn't listed and see if there is any way to find the information on it.

My memory must be fading.  I thought I bought my Ruger Super Blackhawk new in 1991 but the number shows it was made in 1993.  In another case I was sure I bought my #1 new in 1997 but the number shows a 1995 date.

Either the numbers are inaccurate or my memory is shot.  Probably the latter.  Pretty nice service Ruger offers given that most of the other manufacturers charge for it.

Thanks!  I just checked all my Ruger firearms, and when I went to put the dates in my spreadsheet where I record serial numbers, discovered I had lost the file somewhere.  Took the opportunity to recreate the file and send myself a copy at work, in case they steal the computer, too!
