It has a 100yd parallax setting which isn't good for a 22 shooting at 50yds or so, that's why rimfire scopes are set to be parallax free at 50yds. If you place your face the same on the stock every time, it won't make any difference tho.

I have long said cheaper 1" scopes are a good fit on a rimfire rifle. The manufacture matters little, but one thing that's necessary is it have a adjustable objective scopes. As Tim pointed out this one is a poor choice for this very reason. My father has had very good luck with the BSA scope made specifically for the 17 HMR IIRC its a sweet17 its mounted on his handi 17. I have a Simmons 4x2AO Signature on a marlin 880SQ.

I suggest you look for one with an adjustable objective or one made specifically for a rimfire.

Any scope you can get for $50 is a cheapo scope.  You have to decide if it is good enough for you. I have one BSA scope, and it is the Sweet 17 discussed above.  I looked through a bunch of them before I found one I liked.  I saw bluring, flares, and other distortion in the field of view.  I had the clerk at Cabelas keep bring them out until I found the one I liked.  It is OK for the price, but not as bright as one of my Leupold scopes or either of the Nikons.  I bought a Bushnell 3200 a couple years ago and I really like that one for the price.

I have a BSA Sweet 223 3-12X40AO that I'm currently using on my .243.  Works pretty good.  Haven't messed around with the drums yet.  Another project.  No complaints except that the field of view is narrower than the Bushnell Banner I have in 4-9X40.  It's nice having the AO feature so you can eliminate parallax at all shooting distances.  I picked it up for $50.00 on line sometime last year.  I see they're going for over a hundred now.  You might want to look around first.  I also have a Centerpoint 4-16X40 that also has the AO adjustment and lighted mil-dot reticle.  Picked it up at Walmart for about 70 bucks.  Great price for all the features.  Seems to be well built.  Made by Leapers I believe.  Kind of overkill for a .22, but hey, why not!

Since most of these guys are talking about a bsa sweet. SWFA has a model on sale. I almost bought it a few months back but went with a vortex instead for a 10-22 build.

I have open sights for 0-50 yards, I will get quick release mounts for the scope, and yeah the Shotgun and Black Powder scopes are also 50 yard paralax free.

I was wanting a short compact scope with Mil-Dots and open adjustable knobs, seems to be about the only one I could find thats no more than $120

PLUS its has 4" eye relief.....

I just got one of the new Mueller APT from Dennis @ Mizzou Mule. Its $145 and mil-dot and adjustable. I realy like it so far. I would also look at a Mueller APV if you want something a little cheaper. I've had one for over a year and its a great scpoe for the money.
