Remington 597 VTR .22

I am considering purchasing a Remington 597 VTR .22.  Does anyone have one of these guns?  How do you like it? Is $300 a reasonable price for one of these guns? Thanks guys!

I don't personally have one, but I guess neither does anybody else.  Have you gone over to the rimfirecentral.com website?  They have a bunch of guys there who own and shoot the 597, hope this helps.
