It was for that very reason I put together a brass catcher of sorts. Take some small dia. PVC pipe and window screening, cut two pieces of the PVC to the depth of the platform you're shooting off of, two more pieces maybe 8" for a short leg/base and two more pieces for the uprights. Six elbows, glue it together, put the screening on using wood screws and you're done. I made up a handfull of them for the club for very little money. Since this is an outdoor range, I filled the leg/base with shot to give it some weight. Otherwise it'll blow over in a breeze.
Both the 52 & 82 will throw brass 20-25 feet on a diagonal, kinda makes it hard to find the brass.
