Walmart 5 minutes from me had CCI primers this AM - SP, LP, SR, but no LR, $3.09/100.  YeeHaw, normal flow is resuming.

My local guy was actually overstocked on primers last week. Federal small rifle $160/5k cash no tax. No deals on lower quantities. He is doing a gun show today so he should move quite a few.

Powder Valley, right at my finger tips here has some CCI for $24.00/1000 and a good stock of Wolf for $25.50/1000. more posted as arriving on the 25th.

Yes there is hazmat, but they do ship powder and primers together for one HM.  And How can anyone just order 1K, I have shot more than 1K of SR this month alone ;D.  Combine primers and powder and the HM is less than the gas to drive to Wal-Mart.

Ken

PS:  Why don't you already have 50K + of primers in inventory now?   I have many more than that. but still buy even now. They will only go up.  better than having money in the banks. IMHO

X2 I wish my Wally World carried them.

I've finally been able to find LP and SP primers but still no magnum primers anywhere to be found locally.

Buy what you can when you find them at a good price and swap them later. Way better than my mutual funds used to be. Wish I had bout $5K worth 2 years ago.

My local sporting goods store yesterday had plenty of primers. BUT, he wanted $5 a hundred and the same per thousand! That was his cheapest , some were $5.99 a hundred! I will never trade with him again.

Ya, we got one outfit in town wants 7.99 a flat. Go across town and it 32.99 per K and they have plenty, no CCI though.

Alot of guy's that have been loading for years think that cost per K is alot/nut's,,well there are alot of guy's just starting cause Factory ammo has gone even Higher!! So even at 32-34 for a 1000 it's still way less than factory.
It's not gonna go down any,,But having 50,000+ primers? Then wonder why cost has gone up?

I bought 5000 LR on the net a few weeks ago from Powder Valley. Even with has-mat they were still only $25.50 per thousand. They were wolf primers, but I have been using them and I can tell no difference from them and CCI.

I haven't seen Win large rifle primers in over a year. Has anyone else have this trouble?

That my friend is worth repeating! so I did!  ;)  Wouldn't that be nice, an oil change and  some powder and primers!  I'd go for that.

Things aint nearly back to normal here for sure!

I was at the local pawn shop the other day and noticed a CCI box sitting in the corner of their glass case.  Upon close inspection I found that it was a box of LR magnum primers.  The price tag on the box said $22.39, you could tell it was a little old.  It had one box of primers gone from the case.  So that means that there are 900 left.  I don't have any magnum cartridges to load, but for that price its hard to pass up.  I could work up a load with them anyways I figure.

Buy 'em, keep 'em or save for trading for what you use later when they are $40/k or more. You will not lose money on these. And if worse comes to worse you can shoot them.

Just ordered a bunch with a buddy. I had plenty prior to the drought. Still have some, but figured if they're available now I'll restock.
I usually don't need all that many, maybe a couple 3-400, for anything but my plinking pistol which I try to keep excess.
