how far apart should ikeep my new sets from each other. i need to put in as many has i can before it freezes up again.

ten feet apart....especially in spring time... i have as many as 6 sets on hot spts

I never worry about sets to close--I have had some 2 or 3 feet apart, with beaver in both the next day.
One of the best was 8 set in a row --in less than 100 feet.* beaver the next morning.

6 of the sets were castor mounds I made.1 was a dam crossover and the other was a small channel off of the dam.

one thing to remember- Tom uses mostly 330s-
with footholds on slides, make sure they are at least the length of the slide, plus 4-5 feet part- or you will, occasionally, get 1 beaver in both (or otter like happened to me this year)

And with footholds the live beaver will chew the hell out of the dead bvr even before he or she drowns if drowner cable or trap set up allows trapped bvrs to reach each other.....

i am useing all conibears now. this stretchof river, when the high water goes down,is only 2 to 3ft. deep. you got to hunt for 4 ft. of water. trapping beaver with coni is anew to me always used cdr foot holds. thanks for the input.
