Good lord, that guy's freaking huge!  Maybe a little more time on the walking trail and less time wasting ammo?

It's still not close to Ed McGivern's 5-shot time, or Jerry Miculek's attempt to beat it. I wonder if Mr. Miculek has tried a 19 shot time? McGivern's .45 seconds for 5 shots translates to .09 seconds per shot. At that rate the 19 shot time would have to be 1.71 seconds.

I think this may be an example of "bump shooting", which is not an example of the kind of coordination and practice displayed by the likes of McGivern and Miculek.

Hey guys. I know a morbidly obese lady and it's just not nice to say things like that. It hurts peoples' feelings.

I believe Ed McGiverns time for five shots was 9/20ths of one second.

Yankee: I keep finding 9/20ths, but either way it's fast.

I like Bob Munden: I've got a DVD of his. Here's a great sample of his shooting:

McGivern. Exactly.

I've got a copy of McGivern's Fast and Fancy book. It's not a thrilling read, but it's a good example of a book written by a true expert willing to get into the technicalities of his labors of love. There's quite a lengthy section on how painstaking his work on getting a reliable timer built for his shooting. There are pictures.

Prolly not since I was a wee lad did I find any enjoyment in seeing how fast I could waste money using a firearm as a noise maker. If ya have nothing more in mind for the ammo than seeing how much noise you can make how fast then I suggest that noise can be made more cheaply and faster using a pack of firecrackers.

I gotta agree with that. I shoot a lot of timed and rapid fire now for bullseye. It gets 'spensive. I definitely prefer slow fire precision shooting. It costs less and it's a lot more satisfying. But if you're gonna shoot bullseye, you gotta shoot sustained.

Yup I've shot bullseye competition but that's fast with a purpose. What that guy was doing to me was just plain stupid. He just wanted to be seen on u-tube. Why I have no clue.

There's quite a lot of shooting related stuff on Youtube. Some of it is very good.

Search Youtube for some shooting topics. You'll be amazed at what you find. Some good, some weird, some inane, some excellent.

I don't know if it was the youth or the fact that I wasn't paying for the ammo Bill, but shooting 10 to 20 thousand rounds in an afternoon ot of our 20MM Vulkans was alot of fun. Oh and by the way after that much ammo we had hit everything.

I'll just bet you had to include a lot of stuff you weren't supposed to hit no doubt.

You are correct it was 9/20 ths of a second. I changed my post to reflect that change. I knew the correct time but posted the wrong information. I will also say that if the cylinder gap is loose enough that a revolver can fire itself that fast after the first shot is taken.
