LBT ogival wadcutter design
« on: January 26, 2010, 01:51:54 PM »
I'm interested in the "ogival wadcutter" design as a way to get maximum short range smack with the least recoil.  Can this bullet be provided with a crimp groove positioned so that a substantial portion (say 0.300") of the bullet projects outside the cartridge case, to minimize its jump into the forcing cone?  Regards, Bill.

I can make the nose any length asked for, but one must first consider the need for adaquate lubrication and bearing inside the case neck.  If gas checked the nose can be a bit longer and still get adaquate lubrication, or freedom from leading.  Best way to order is to ask for maximum nose length and I"ll set it up so it will perform well.  The bullet is quite short, so .300 nose won't be possible.
