Help!

I cannot find a direct answer to this with multiple searches and examinations of T/C's website.

Yes, the profile is the same.  It will fit just fine.

The profile is not the same, but the prohunter forend will fit the 26" heavy barrel.  The 28' Prohunter barrels have a slightly thicker profile than the 26" heavy barrel.  The standard forend designed for the 24&26" barrels will not fit the 28" Prohunter barrels.

Odd - I don't have a 26" to compare, but the walnut forend I got that is supposed to fit the 26" barrel fits my 28" Pro Hunter barrel like it was made for it.  In fact, EAB says they are the same:  http://www.eabco.com/cgi-bin/shopper.exe?preadd=action&key=207-7656

I think that heavy barrel forend is a little different than the standard forends.  The forends that say fit 24" and 26" barrels will not fit the Pro Hunters.  That heavy barrel forend I have no experience with and I take your word it will fit.  But the synthetic not prohunter 24/26 forends will not fit.

This forend will not fit the 28" prohunter, but will fit the 26" heavy barrel: http://www.eabco.com/cgi-bin/shopper.exe?preadd=action&key=207-7704

When I bought my .50 caliber prohunter right after they came out I had a problem with the gun and sent it back to T/C They replaced the gun and sent it back to me. I had paid to send it in and when we were discussing what they owed me for shipping I had mentioned I needed to get a forearm to match the gun for the rifle barrels as I was going to purchase a few prohunter rifle barrels to go with my new gun. T/C sent me a regular encore forearm in exchange for shipping. The forearm they sent me fit fine. The guy at T/C said they were having problems with the camo coating on the prohunter forearms at the time and were using the regular camo forearms until they got the camo problem figured out. I am posting a couple of pictures to show the forearm on my barrels. I really don't think there is a difference other than length and fluting in the 26 inch heavy barrel and the 28 inch prohunter barrels.

I bought some gear since and have had a chance to try.

Oddly, the Pro Hunter forend fits both my 24" iron-sighted .30-06, my 26" 7mm Mag and my 28" .30-06 Pro Hunter barrel.  How it does this, I'm nonplussed.   ???

Was going to get the regular forend for the 24", but now I can't see the point.  After all, if people are free-floating theirs with washers, then even if it doesn't fit (sure LOOKS like it does!!), who cares?

Thanks all!
