Hello
My son in law expressed his Interest in owning perhaps
a K-22 or a K-22 Magnum recently. Last weekend I was at one of our local gun show's and came across a decent Model 48-4. It had been carried but appeared to have not been fired much. I cut a deal with the vendor on a swap towards it, and shortly there after it came home with us. I gave the vendor my Son in Law's Pre-30 Hand eject of 1952 vintage. I had picked this gun up at a Gun auction a couple of years ago for a Very Low ball price
of $140.00. I had the correct box for it so it completed the package. My son in law had to
add another $125.00 to the swap to finish the deal so
he now has a decent model 48-4 for $265.00. He Plans to hunt squirrels with it next fall. I knew
I had my work cut out for me to locate
any K-22 for him under $300.00 as I have not seen any offered in that price range for at least
the past ten Years or so. They are getting
$600.00 for Beat down looking K-22's in my area, but most
shy away from the k-22 Magnum's being the Model 48's as
they are too Cheap to pay for the ammo for them. It was not a problem for us as we both Have Marlin rifles chambered in .22 W.M.R. and
now we both have side arm's to match our rifles. I took the gun home with me and removed the non diamond P.C. Magna's that were on it. I completely disassembled it down to the frame and cleaned and oiled the internals which were bone dry. I then
polished the sear and rebound slide before putting it all back together. I came across a set of decent
Target stock's I had on hand so we swapped them out for the much smaller Magna's that it had on it when we got it. I took it to the range to
see how well it shot and it grouped
