Actions Available for .500Corbon
« on: November 03, 2003, 07:53:59 PM »
I have a wild hair thought about using an existing single shot action and chambering  a cabine (18") barrel for it. The result should be a real "thumper". I am refering to the cartrage AKA the .500 S&W Mag. but out of respect to GB I will call it for the company that actually manufactures the ammo :D .

There's a group having Encore barrels made by OTT for the .500 S&W cartridge.
There's an interesting article on SSK's web site on taking an elk with it.

To let you know. Cor-Bon was not the one who developed the S&W500MAG. Cor-Bon got with Jamison International and Mark Jamison developed the S&W500 for Cor-Bon to load. Cor-Bon would like to take full credit for it, but a lot of us know the truth. Why do you think Cor-Bon no longer make there S&W500MAG rounds with Jamison International Brass, Mark Jamison quit selling the brass to Cor-Bon and Starline now makes the brass for Cor-Bon. That is why we had such a hard time getting loaded rounds for the S&W500. But we also found out we can reload it a lot cheaper and with better accuracy.
