can a .410 single shot fire a 45-70

can a .410 single shot shotgun shoot 45-70 ammo. I know you can shoot 45 long colt, but can it fire 45-70 safely. If not what would be needed to make it shootable.

are you talking about the .410/.45 lc? or just a .410 shotgun? if its just a .410 shotgun then no in no way should you shoot a .45-70 through a .410 there really no way to do it your talking about a .45 caliber bullet going through a .41 caliber or smaller (with choke) same with a .45lc through a regular .410 not going to work bad idea. if your talking about the .410/.45 lc (which is desgined to shoot both) i dont think you can shoot a .45-70 in it i think the case is to big? dont know though probably a bad idea either way
common sense is slowly becoming uncommon

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

A .410 shotgun is made to safely shoot .410 shotgun ammo.

If you want a .45/70 rifle buy a .45/70 rifle.

It ain't gonna happen.
A 45-70 cartridge won't even fit in a .410 chamber

you would need a gun chambered in 45-70 to fire a 45-70 cartridge, you'll blow your head off if you shove a 45-70 in a .410 shotgun barrel

hope this helps...

I wouldn't even shoot .45 Colt in one unless it was made for that.
