with the older contender frame be tuff enuff to put muzzelloader barrels on off of a g2 contender,,,,,

The muzzleloader barrel will only fit the g2 because of the way it is made. It has a pin that sticks down from the bottom and this pin will not clear frame in old style contender. I have heard of the pin being cut off so it will fit but this voids any warranty that you may have. I would think that would be the only issue as far as preasures are concerned.

I understand the word from TC is that original Contenders were prone to rust on internal parts from the aftermarket muzzleloader barrels.

Strange I don't know why, as only the barrel is subjected to the pressure from the shot. The breechplug and 209primer prevent any significant pressure from "reaching" the frame.

Pressure is not the issue. In fact you will never see anything from TC saying the G2 is any stronger or can take any more pressure that the original.
