Pro Hunter Shooting

Anybody got an Encore 30cal. in a pro hunter config. that has weighed it? I notice that the heavy barrel models have significantly less muzzle jump than the 24" barrels, curious as to how "smooth" the 28" barrel is to shoot, especially, but not exclusively, in the slightly "larger" rounds such as .270, '06's, any of the "mags," etc.. etc...

I have a 28" 30-06 Prohunter With The Flextech  thumbhole stock.  I have not weighed It, But seems Lighter than My Rem 700 06 with 26" heavy barrel.  It  Handles Much better for me. The over all length Is shorter.   Shoots great also.

Can't imagine that barrel pointing "up" much at the shot... How does it like the 180's

The Only 180grainers I've shot were Winchester 180gr SP's.  They shot around an Inch @ 100 yards..  I thought that was really good for factory ammo..   I have a Load worked up Using the Nosler 125gr Ballistic tips. That is awsome. Best group was .450"   Avarage is about 3/4".

Don't know weight but my Pro Hunter 270 win. shoots like a dream compaired to my old Winchester model 70 the 28" barrel does not jump like the 24" on the model 70 and forearm weight is not noticable compared to my Encore 26" 22-250 Now that being said I have a 28" Pro Hunter 300 win mag that kicks like a mule. Compared to my old Ruger Model 77 300 Win mag muzzel jump is less but kick seems to be harder. It could be I'm just older since I haven't shot the Ruger in 18 Years. Sighting the 300 in after 9 shots I'm done but the 270 I can shoot on bench all day! Funny thing about the 300 when shooting at Elk never feel the kick and thats why I own the 300

I consider my 28 inch Pro Hunter barrel in 300 Win. Mag. very comfortable to shoot.
