Finally had a decent day of weather, sunny and 52, so I gathered up some irons and went to the range. I shot an Astra Constable in .32 ACP, a Remington 870 HD with military buckshot, a Model 1895 Ludwig/Loewe Mauser (made in 1895) in 7X57, a Remington Model 8 in .35 Remington, a Ruger No. 1 in .450-400 3-inch, and last but by no means least, the Buffalo Classic Carbine in .45 LC. The little Handi is a dang hoot! I was just shooting up some odds and ends of .45 Colt loads I had in the loading room -- 9.5 of Unique under a 200-grain lead SWC, 296 under a .340-grain gas check, 30 grains drop-tubed Goex FFg under a Lee 255-grain flat nose -- but the carbine handled like a dream and recoil was nil. And by the way, that BP load wanted to group. Wish I had had more of them. I'll load some jacketed stuff here soon, but first I plan to mount a nice old all-steel Weaver K2.5 on this little fella to see just what it can do. I don't recall ever having such fun with a single shot.
Great gun for $220!
