Illinois voters
« on: February 01, 2010, 01:57:22 AM »

Today is the last day before the Primary election in Illinois, and our endorsed candidate in Illinois (Judge Don Lowery) needs your help!

The Undecided voters are the ones who will decide this primary election:

1 - In a primary election, very few voters turn out....but the ones who do turn out are motivated.

2 - AS of a January 26th poll, 43% of the voters in Illinois are "undecided" about who to vote for in the Senate Republican race ...which is a huge number for a primary election that is less than 1 week away...and very few of those undecideds would probably vote. (They're not sold on anyone so they are not motivated)

3 - We helped set up a phone bank this weekend so we could reach those undecided voters...and those phone calls will have a dramatic effect on them. Every person we reach with the phone bank is likely to be more motivated and more likely to vote for Judge Lowery if the phone call they get comes from our phone bank!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two ways to help:

1 - If you have any time at all...even short periods of time...please help out with some calls:

2 - If you have no time, a small contribution would help cover the costs of the phone bank:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THANK YOU!

I tend to disagree at least in so far as I personally am concerned. When I am barraged by phone calls about a candidate as I have been by one particular candidate here in Alabama I tend to vote against that person for the hassle they have caused me.

Perhaps I'm different than the average voter in that regard. Down here there is a candidate named Ricky Whaley. I have no clue who he is but my phone has rung so many times only for me to hear his voice or rarely that of someone working on his election I have decided to do all I can to make sure he is not elected.

Be careful not to abuse the phone calls for your favorite candidate. That can backfire big time in my opinion. I know it can for me at least.

BTW no place in your pitch for this candidate have you given any reason why someone should vote for them as opposed to whomever else is running. Again I dunno about others but if someone just asks me to vote for someone without explaining to me why that generally motivates me to vote against not for.

I usually am the same way!!
This is for the voters in Illinois who should know the candidates. The Icaucus, a group that has vetted the candidates has looked at the record of the others running in the primary. The most conserative on the tickets is a guy by the name of Lowery.
The others are anti-gun and lean more left. As a group the Icaucus is trying to get the most conserative and best as far as is known. Therefore they have asked all that will, in Illinois, man the phones and call to help
It may not suit everyone but it is a start. If anyone knows of a better way let the country know. The person they elect in Illinois will have a say in Alabama when it is all said and done.

Another thing I would like to mention is that those that man the phones are like us. They have a reason to be mad at the present conditions in this country. They have vollenteered to take the time and try to help. For the first time I have gotten off the couch and become involved. I am begining to believe what I was told. You will become disenchanted when you see how little help you will get from the people that bitch the most. I and the people that man those phones used to be the bitchers. Now we are trying.
It is this group that pushed Brown to win in Mass. Wether that is believed or not it is true.
Look up the candidates and know who they are before you vote.

Do people in southern Illinois feel like they are being represented, or does Chicago politics just dominate everything in that state? Southern Illinois seems like its on a different planet (a better planet) than the northern part of the state.

It is definitely a better place south of here, west also. Only the Northeast corner is rotten.
Bill, I'm like you. I have been getting calls non-stop for the past three days and it is very irritating.

Does what obama and his ilk are doing irritating you?
Would what he has in store for this country irritate you?
Is everything going just peachey for you?
A few phone calls should delight us if it will help get us out of this morass.

One call from a candidate I don't particularly mind tho it isn't gonna have a positive effect on their chances to get my vote. A constant barrage of calls like the one I mention here locally guarantees I do what I can to prevent their election.

Calls with a live human on the other end who can and will actually discuss issues and the candidates stance could be a positive thing ONCE to me. Daily calls when there is nothing but a pre recorded message on the other end does nothing but piss me off.

Yes I agree who you elect in IL has an effect on me here in Bama. Sadly I have no way to alter what happens there and from what I've seen of IL politics it's almost certain to be bad.

Check out this map from the 2008 election.  http://elections.nytimes.com/2008/results/president/map.html   I think Change is on the way.Compare Cook Co. to any other in the state. click on Illinois then scoll over any Co.

They're Republicans calling because I'm a registered Republican.
Does what obama and his ilk are doing irritating you?
Of course it does.
Would what he has in store for this country irritate you?
Again, of course it does.
Is everything going just peachey for you?
No, not really.
A few phone calls should delight us if it will help get us out of this morass.
I fail to see how repetitive, prerecorded phone calls will help anything.

I know who I am voting for and why. The multiple phone calls are just annoying.
