Looking for a 1911

I am looking at getting a 1911 and am not sure what to go with there are some many options and brands, and I would like some opinions.  I am looking for some along the lines of the GI model and nothing real expensive.  Maybe something in the 500 to 700 dollar range.  Thank you for your help.

Kimber-- You can get one for $799.00 if you shop.Plain Jane model but they go bang and eject every time.Stay away from the cheapies.They just don't cut it.
