california state legislature...if it can be called that
« on: February 02, 2010, 05:03:27 AM »
having lived most of my adult life in "the golden state" it should come as no surprise to me, i guess; but I've seen the California state legislature go from bad to worse in a few short years.

they now are trying to eliminate free parking in order to "encourage" folks to leave their cars at home when shopping.

what do us folk that live "out of town" do when we want to go shop? park outside the city and walk in?

to top it off...look who is running to be gov again! none other than Jerry Brown! he couldn't destroy the state during his first term, now he wants to finish the job...

we need to remove the whole durn state legislature! this place is getting more and more far out...

 >:( :o ??? :-[

Well, I think that if the State is trying to get rid of free parking..it is for one real reason only, to put in pay parking, to raise more money. No matter what they say, I think that is the bottom line.
I heard today that in the U.S., 1/3 of all welfair reciprients are in Ca. Pretty expensive. Ditto prisons, and lots of other programs.
Before long, I'm sure you will be looking at GPS in vehicles, with various surcharges added for various types of driving.
Past time to move.

Kalifornika and nue yawk are about the same - near totally dysfunctional and it is due to their legislatures,  governators and minority interest groups.  I think both states, as well as The Illinoid should consider the following:  a revolution that separates certain cities from the remainder of the state.  Kalifornika should revolt and separate LA, SF and SD from the rest of the state, making them city-states:  you could have coastal kalifornika and The State of California.  They each have a large enough population to stand, or be stood on their own, and the debt to the rest of the state to support them would be drastically reduced as it gets spread out to the rest of the states.  The same can be said for Illinoid (or at least for those folk in Illinois who are annoyed with chicagoff - quitcher witching, revolt, revoke its charter and set it up as a city-state, or special district, or just let it hand and let congress decide - congress can't make ya take it back.  Make it a free-port.  You could have the international free-port of Chikagov, or Chicario, adn teh Great State of Illinois.

Neu yawkers should do the same - revolt, cut the stinkhole loose and make it a free-port.  We would then have the Great State of New York and the international free-port of Neu Blumberg.

Now, if all this is accomplished while obama and pelosi are in office they will try and make democraptic states of these places, as special districts don't have congressional representation, so no additional dumbocraptic senators.  But, if the states cut them loose and revoke their charters, they can become free-ports which would operate under federal authorita and their debt gets spread out over the entire nation, not just the state.  Just think - the remaining states would decrease their funding to about 1-2% for these cities from the 50-60% they pay now, the debt would be spread across the rest of the nation and increase by about 1-2% per state, which could be reimbursed by the states freed from this individual state burden and these states would still save close to 50% of their individual financial burdens for these state based cities.  Imagine the improvements to the quality of the schools, health care and state infrastructures that can be made with just a small fraction of the burdens already spent and the amount of $ that could go back to the taxpayers through tax reductions.  It's wild to think about it.

Or, you can just revolt, revoke their charters, pull back state funding, close off roads and bridges, set up checkpoints and let them all rot...  I suppose that when they start getting hungry enough they will finally get rid of the idiots who represent them but it will take a lot of them to starve before that happens.

I suppose we can airlift food and supplies to them but I would want them to commit to a change in their form of government first; no more liberal minority rule, no more family oriented lifetime mayoral governance and in neu yawk, nothin' from the city that has anything to do with bloomberg, shumer or either of the klintons north of the Weschester County line..............  just a thought.........

Sorry for the delayed response, I don't get to this forum very often...I really don't remember where I heard it, only that is was a real coincidence with my hearing it, then reading the post. I[m sure statistics can be obtained through various sites.
