Taurus Millennium Pro 9mm Recoil Spring
« on: February 02, 2010, 08:23:20 AM »
The Millennium Pro has a "captured" recoil spring. After field stripping and cleaning mine last weekend I noticed the recoil spring just dropped in place and required no compression to re-install it. With the gun back together, the barrel feels loose. It isn't snug against the breech and you can wobble it around (a little) with your finger. Has anyone else had this situation? I think I need a new captured recoil spring...or a way to get mine to fit with compression. Any advise would be appreciated. My gun was built in 2007.

I'm not sure about your particular pistol, but several of mine have two steps at the breech end. That end of he spring goes on the step closest to the barrel. Just make sure you are putting it in the right step or ledge.

Thanks for the reply, greenjeans.

I'm pretty certain I have reassembled the gun correctly...but I'll double check to be certain. It shoots fine but it just feels funny. Maybe I'm just getting paranoid in my old age. By the way, when I was much younger someone gave me the nickname greenjeans.

See ya,
