" More newer and costs less "
That combination doesnt always make it better , A good cross draw has been my prefference for a full size 1911 for alot of years. Carries fine at waist level, Can be drawn from the sitting position weither the sitting position is car, motorcycle , horse or ATV . It stays out of the way and can be had alot of times with quality for a $50 bill give or take.
Best thing to do is just get to a shop that carries a good selection of holster and get with the owner , be polite and straight forward and explain what you have ( weapon wise) and more times then not the guy will work with you , And you may find a rig you hadnt thought of that fits your and comfort level better then what you mentioned or that we all have mentioned ... but in the end the proof with be in the wearing and practicing from said holster.
I have a 7.5" barreled Ruger Super Black Hawk 44 mag with a straight forward strong side Hunters brand leather holster I found in a pawn shop for $10 , well My line of thinking was only $10 bucks , would be more accessable then toting it in my pack while hunting , But honestly I thought that weapon in that holster would be a god aweful pain in the ass to haul around all day in the mountains ... I was pleseantly surprised at how well it rode on my hip walking, climbing and riding the 4 wheeler. Its weight and position wasnt as bad as first expected.
So you never know till you try it is the point I was trying to make , Just remember you usually get what you pay for ... And that buying a good quality holster right out of the gate trumps 3 or 4 crappy hoslters in my book all day long. Besides should you pick up a nice Bianchi hoslter and find it doesnt float your boat then sell it to someone on here , recoupe some of your cash to go towards whatever you have your eye on next.
