This is the only picture I have of one of my hunting pistols right now.
This will be my next years deer hunting pistol. I just got the barrel last week.
It is an old model Contender frame with a 14" SS Shilen barrel in 30-30AI made by MGM.
It has a Weaver 2.5-8X28 scope on it.
I also have a 14" 6mm-225 Win and a 10" 357 Mag barrel that I have been killing deer with the past few years. They both have the Weaver 2.5-8X28 scopes on them.

This is my Ruger 45 Colt Bisley I used for deer hunting.

It loves the 300 grain XTP's.

sachel.45, wish I could help you out. This was made by Doc White. It was the prototype. The only Javalina he made in a 12ga. He also made a few Javalinas in a few other calibers like 45 & 50. Not very meny and their owners love them. It has a 16 inch hastings barrel with screw in chokes. It also has straight rifling to keep the shot cups moving perfectly straight down the barrel for better paterns. It came with a modified and I bought a open ported choke for shooting 1 ounce AQ slugs. It is a lot of fun and a good game getter. Use shot, buckshot, and the 1 ounce slugs in it. Need to mount an adjustable sight as the slugs shoot a bit to the left. I use 90 grains of 777 with the slugs and it makes a sharp crack like a well tuned rifle. It is not to hard to handle using two hands. I really love this gun. Nice and light and easy to carry with the hand strap or a sling.

All done by magnaport. Removed the front sight, cut and threaded the barrel for the magna comp, reinstalled the sight, trigger/action job, numbered the cylinders, recut the forcing cone, ground off the safety warning on the barrel.

All quality work over there and turn around was less than stated.

The grips were made by my favorite custom gripmaker. Me

The M-29 in the lower left corner has been my "work gun" to put meat in my freezer, though. I've taken moose and deer, and all kinds of other game with it since i bought it in the 70's...

Ain't it amazing how everyone seems to have one gun that they grab if they just want to put meat in the freezer. It seems we spin wheels every year to get a new deer gun and then we decide to go kill a few does and we grab the old beater we have shot 1000's of times and walk out the door.

I really like it fits my hand great and shoots much better than I can. I used it to qualify for my CCW, which I never sent off for. scored perfect with it. course how you don't score perfect shooting that close is beyond me, but the lady next to me on the line (shooting a snub nose 38 was missing her target completely!!!!! It is a little much for the wife and daughter...thinking of getting the 40 kit for it for them.

I know lots of folks think they need a new gun all the time, but i pretty much have and use the same guns i put together in the 70's and 80's. That tells me that i made good decisions when i bought, the first time around.
