Slugging My B.C 45-70
« on: February 03, 2010, 09:54:00 AM »
Slugged my B.C today was just wondering what kind of numbers other people got when they did this and if my groove diameter was a little on the tight side. I measured mine at .4560 even.

That seems tight , you may want to try again , all of my H&Rs have run in the range were a .458 jacketed bullet or a .459 cast bullet fit nicely .

If you come up with that number again , give Remington a call , something is truely amiss .  ???

Mine runs .458.  <457 seems awful tight.  I suppose if the cutters had been sharpened repeatedly and needed to be replaced that could happen, but it will cause some problems if its true.
