We have given a few new guys a hard time about their guns in the past few weeks.  I have to ask.  Is the bore 1/3 of the diameter of the barrel?  it looks like a pipe.
Zulu

And, Zulu, be sure and ask if the MATERIALS are on the approved steels list!  At least the approved plastics list.   ;D

I think that cannon has an unfair advantage............ At 50 yards the balloon

would be just inches from the muzzel!
  ;D
Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

THat might be a disadvantage, as the loooong barrel would be so slow to move.   :D

Why needles? Cannister loaded with birdshot or some shotgun pellets less than buckshot would work fine. It would also not create havoc downrange. Firing heavy shot at a 45 degree angle seems unwise.

Also how about a large mylar balloon filled with helium work? You could have it downrange with a remote release and a string so it could pulled back down for multiple tries. This could be fun with a swivel gun with a large enough yoke so it could be pointed high.

I guess that a tiny steel needle wouldnt reach any further than an small lead birdshot
and thats if they are stabilized  ;D

Let's see..........the barrel is steel, the breechblock which is very heavy,is also steel.........Guess what? i ain't even going to tell y'all how it works ;D............. The deal was to pop a trash bag 100 feet from the gun, using a golf ball. Since i've proof tested the gun out past 125 yards, i'm sure it can handle the pressure of popping a trash bag at 100 feet. So how's that for sitting here and arguing theory........ ;D

Knowing how you build things, I'll bet it will have minute-of-trash-bag accuracy!   ;D

Here you go Tim, (listening to Lance describe your shooting skills) this should be just what the doctor ordered. Only to make things a little more fair, you should have to hit a balloon that's tied to a goose's leg.

Lance,
I still like the first movie with Fred Ward and Kevin Bacon the best, I can't remember what kind of ride H. Gummer and his wife had (SUV?), but the plates read UZI 4 U (I love it). :D

I wonder if we can get Tim to dress up and look like H. Gummer for this summers shoot ;D

Well, Lance, as I understand it, Tim usually wears a bowler hat and gaiters as part of his everyday attire, so all you'd have to do is convince him to put on the vest and jacket.  :) ;D :D, :) ;D :D, :) ;D :D!

I'm sorry Tim, I couldn't leave it alone, I even managed to tickle myself, with this one. ;)

That squirrel wouldn't be there long if that 8" cut loose!

THE loudest cannon I've heard - my ear is still not the same from one that cut loose hundreds of yards away!  One does not foget either, the windows (in a cement block building) rattling from them firing 5 MILES away.

Maybe its getting ready to do a half gainer.

Cool Dude!

No, I don't want you to apologise for anything - I should have been more clear - I was apologising for MY being off-topic on my rant about the present news media!

Sometimes (often?) we misinterpret what others say!  I say it is the author's responsibility to make it clear.  Here, I obviously didn't.
