Is anyone shooting/hunting with a Mathews Icon?  I've been shooting a Hoyt for over 10 years and Bears 20+ before then.  I am forced to go to a release or quit bowhunting, figers are giving out on me.  I plan on shooting a bunch of 'em before buying any, but I am seriously considering an Icon.  Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.  I can say one thing, I haven't heard anyone cuss a Mathews!!!  Thanks.

Ask enough people and they will cuss em.......but I won't. I love mine!

I shoot  a MQ1........it has been discontinued but you can still get one from the factory.

If mine broke today and couldn't be fixed.........I'd call the company and see if they had another MQ1..........
If you can't work em in close & git em in yo face with their orange landing gear down, don't bother takin the safety off!!!!!!!

The Icon is a very smooth bow. It doesn't have the real high peak weight  and radical drop off with a solid wall that is common of a lot of bows these days. This is a real friendly bow that feels more like an Oneida or an older wheel bow than a typical Mathews. At 38 ATA it can be shot with fingers or a release and I use both with mine. If you are going to keep a Mathews around this is a great bow. The first time I drew the bow and let it down I wanted it. I have higher performance bows in the house but on days that the joints creak I only pull the Mathews. Good luck hunting!

In my opinion, Mathews is the way to go. I have a Legacy and love it. I would never switch from Mathews. I have shot Bear, Ben Person and Martin but like the Mathews the best :D

Which Hoyt are you shooting now?  If you don't want to go to the expense of a new bow, you can easily change over to shooting a release on your Hoyt.  You may need a different rest and will need to retune the bow.

Then again, if you really want a new bow...
