buckmark pistol questions
« on: February 04, 2010, 01:49:26 PM »
I used to own a buckmark pistol....blued/black frame with the gold nickel barrel and slide....well it was one of the guns that got stolen from my own so i am now looking to replace it.  I had trouble with the nickel flaking off of that one, and it went back to the factory once for it.  Do the stainless have the same problem?  any advantage to the stainless over the standard matte blued?  Also i am thinking of the matte blued with rosewood grips, or the stainless with black laminate grips...if i go with one or the other can grips be purchased seperately?

I have three.
One since 86 when they first came out with the really lousy rear sight.  Have shot this gun a lot.  A whole lot.  Still works and once I replaced the rear sightswiht the upgraded ones in 89 I was really happy.
All three are blued.
Never have had a problem with the finnish, other than a little holster wear.  Carried the first one in a nylon holster for a few years while hunting on the farm.
Right now if i had to replace any or all of mine.  I would get the target model with the 5.5" barrel with the large wood stocks blued or blacked.  I like the wings on the slide.
But to each his own.
