SAMCO, SARCO, Gun Parts America.  Just add a www and a .com to the names and you can get there.  Good luck and hope this helps.....

If you haven't checked prices in a couple of years, prepare to be shocked. :o

A local shop has one for $299!  I picked one up in better condition at another local shop within the last 6 months for $130.

Auctionarms.com or gunbroker.com have always been good.  I see them on the used racks, covered in dust in most small local mom and pop gun shops.   What kind are you looking for?

Century and SOG list only deactivated "drill purpose" Enfields. Samco lists no Enfields at all and Sarco lists only parts. J&G Sales lists number 4 Enfields with the two position flip sight only at $250!  I'd say the days of the cheap Enfield are long gone, prices started soaring over the past year. There just aren't any more to import. Your best bet would be local guns shops, gunshows or pawn shops which haven't yet gotten the message.

The one I like most has the "full wood" all the way up to the
end of the barrel. I think it is the Mk. 3 no.1. I had a friend
who had one. It was a relatively short version, but had a
really sporty look. He was in love with it, and to the best of
my recollection it was extremely accurate. He shot the full
metal jacket rounds through it. Probably military surplus.

I sold my fathers sporter-ized MK IV last year was able to get 350.00 for it, had original cleaning Kit.
He picked it up in Turkey in the 60's, (probably was Pakistani) really dont miss it , was quite heavy and
Brass Buttplate sure made my shoulder sore at end of day. It shot well though.
I see them around the local Gun shops all the time.

Great rifles.  But also check the price of factory hunting ammo in .303 Brit.  (Gag!)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm thinking maybe you haven't priced ammo in a while. Everything has gone up and .303 seems to be right alongside 30/06 in price, if you can find it. The sticker shock is in the rifles. It seems like six months ago I was thinking I should get an Enfield just because they were so cheap, 69-89 bucks. Today the only ones I see listed are 250! I should have gotten a dozen when they were $69.95! ;D
All mill-surps have of course gone up as the supplies have dried up but in most cases, like the Swedish Mauser's or the Swiss K-31's it was a gradual climb. It seems like Enfields just disappeared over night.

Yes, the price of ammo has sure gone up.   But, you can still buy Remington Core-Lokt factory .30-06 on sale for about $17.00 a box around hunting season.  The last box of factory .303 Brit ammo I saw for sale was $28.00.  My latest Cabela's shooting catalogue does not list a single box of .303 Brit for sale.

The easiest place to find an Enfield is on Gunbroker.   There are lots of them. Be prepared to pay $250 for a really nice one.  For a beat up one, just cruise the large gunshows, and you will find one (with bargaining) for about $125.

That is odd. I just checked Graff's online site and while they don't list Remington .303 they do list Winchester at $14.99, Wolf brand at $14.99 and Privie brand in several weights and types from $13.49-$13.99.  30/06 in the same brands is almost identical. Those are wholesale prices but there is no reason there should be a big difference at retail. Of course most of it is out of stock regardless of caliber.

Great info Coyote!

My brother bought a .303 last year, No. 4, with the two peep flip sight.  He loves it, but has had trouble finding ammo.   I'll pass your info along.  (It is in extremely nice shape, and he paid $250 for it on GB.)

Thanks,

You can get the 303 britt SP ammo in the prvi-partizan brand for $12 a box if you mail order it.  You need to search the internet dealers for it.  The prvi-partizan brass is a quality former yugoslavia brass thats boxer primed.  Many ammo manufacturers are buying up the prvi-partizan ammo and putting it in there boxes and selling it under there name.  There's a "YY" on the case rim on the brass.  Wolf gold,  FNM,  Igman and others are using the Prvi-partizan ammo.

Now Winchester Metric ammo is manufactured by Sellier & Bellot.

Price wise in the past few years Sellier & Bellot has doubled in cost.  The S&B ammo has been one of the best ammo's for accuracy in my 6.5mm swede and my 7mm mauser so far.  I'm not saying its the best but its one of the best that i have shot so far.  I've also used the FNM 6,5mm swede ammo too and its decent also.  The yugo brass is awesome to reload and some have reloaded it over 15+ times on the lighter loads.  The brass resizes awesome too.

All i'm saying is we have options when buying new ammo.  I stay away from the high priced ammo when the cheaper stuff is boxer primed.  I get to shoot it once then reload it when its a little more than new brass in price.

The Privi is fine, you don't need a premium bullet with a 180 grain at 2400 fps.

If your thinking of a collector grade rifle you need to contact BDL.

http://www.bdlltd.com/

Very knowledgeable and has nice rifles at fair prices.

You can find good deals on Gunbroker but you need some Enfield experience or you can end up with a blister.

That's an interesting site. I think I'd pass on the Enfields at $240 but those Yugo 24/47 Mausers look like a deal.

SOG has No4s for $200, last I checked.  They are advertised in 'Good to Very Good', and you have the option of a $10 handpick.  Definitely add the handpick, it does make a difference.
