Older Nikon 3-9x40 scope.. Photos added

Hi All,

       Have just acquired this scope and would like to find out what model it is. All it says on the scope is Nikon 3-9x40   there is a Red ring around the objective bell. Optics are clear, reticle is a bit finer than I would have liked in an ideal world   and the rubber guard ring is missing from the eyebell and if possible I would like to get a replacement for that.

       I have put rings on it but not tried it out as yet but hope to tomorrow (Sunday) on a .308 rifle. Will take a couple of photos later when it's light ad post them and hopefully soemone can tell which model it is  .
