Shooting mortars/cannons in the snow
« on: February 06, 2010, 06:29:51 AM »
OK, I'm snowed in.

CAN'T get to the range for a snow picture and I live in-town.

SO, here's a picture of cat-fishing in the snow as a lame substitute.

Tim, is that a long haired Chocolate Tip Siamese chasing your non-cannon lure? We have one looks like that, only this guy is 3+ feet long, weighs over 20 pounds, and.... plays fetch with the cannon balls I shoot for him! Just kidding about that last part, but he really is a giant! BoomLover

Chirp (the short haired one, ready to play fetch)
Twitter (Long hair, ready to come in)
Born April 1st.  Know nothing in life but how to play.
They cruse together.  I can't wait till spring to hunt squirrels with them.

Down to the shop now, gotta work on cannons.

Not sarcasm - just humor.  I am very comfortable with who I am - and recognize that I am different than a LOT of folks.  In that sense, we that shoot cannons and mortars are cut from a different bolt of cloth than most.  Great pix, by the bye; I'll have to get the captions translated!

Great SONG!

Yes, both cats have little fear of other (larger) cats.  They just insist on playing, even when greeted with agression.  The other cats have learned to adapt!

Well I think the number of cat lovers who also love cannons out number those who don't

and doesn't it take a little bit of weirdness to love cannons too?

maybe we are the more balanced of the lot.........

my cats are indoor cats they wouldn't know what to do with snow.........

KABAR2, the one on the TV tray, about 2/3 the size of our "big guy"....this cat is so heavy, he runs across the yard and bowls over our 35 pound Beagle, hits her on the shoulder and knocks her right over! I agree, us cannon guys (and girls) are a different breed, both our cats and both our dogs all play together, so No Problem! Now, If I mention cannons, I'll be able to stay on topic for the Forum! Any more pix of cannons in the snow?  Or of  ---  < hesitatingly> ---  dogs?

Perhaps the pack pulling the cannon mounted on the dog-sled?

Dogs are not stupid, they don't go out in the snow except to pee and poop!  Even then they don't like it.

he is a big boy his sister the black mottled one named Moca-Java is just as big, Peachie is the big orange Maine Coon who is a big push over.

I have yet to test a theory but I believe my cats don't like cannons I have yet to fire one in the house to find out.
I know they were less than thrilled when I drove my radio controlled 6th scale M5 Stuart tank into the living room...... Carol told
me to play outside.......

I can assure you, they won't, at least after the first shot.

My cats certainly don't like my RC car or hovercraft. The mere sight of them sends them up the highest piece of furniture in the house.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.
