? h&r vintage shotgun excel? what model is it?
« on: February 06, 2010, 07:34:02 AM »
??? So I won a, what the discription say's to be a vintage harrington and richardson shotgun reciever. I can't see any marking's on it so does anybody know what model it is? it has the old style ejector were you slide the lever to the side where the hammer is like old double barells? So would new h&r shotgun barells fit on it and rifle barells like modern h&r firearms. If not where could I find some barells for it and the wood stock pieces.         Thanks Guy's

If it has a side lever barrel release it's too old, H&R won't touch it, it was made by H&R Inc that went out of business in 1986, H&R1871 will only fit barrels to frames made since 1987, if it has a serial number prefix letter, you can learn when it was made in the FAQs and Help sticky build year info.

It's not worth it, you can buy a new Pardner for ~$100, used for about half that,  Numrich would be the best place to check for a barrel if you haven't already.
