You got it with the 67 GTO there!

In high school a buddy had a Mustang Mach 1 with the 429 Cobra Jet. That car scared me it was so fast.

Don't know about the convertibles,
But an olds 442 W30 455 4 speed coupe just sold a few weeks ago for $52,000.00.
I happened to catch the auction on TV.
I would think the 69 Olds w30 coupe would be right up there with em in price.
I bet that convertible today would probably sell in the 30K range

I miss my 67 SS396 Chevelle, and I miss my 69 SS Chevelle. I bought the 69 brand new, and totaled it 3 months before it was paid for. Does that make me old?
Not a muscle car, but I wish I had my 1972 K5 CST Blazer back too.

My favorite - I owned a 57 Chevy 2 dr. model 210 post car, 6cyl 3 speed.  Painted it black, with white coves, put an old vette solid lifter 327 and 4spd in it, swapped out the 10 bolt for a 12 bolt rear, and put a new disk / drum braking system in it.  Dual flow master exhaust, and Keystone classic wheels.  The cars main point was all original sheet metal that was flawless.   Didn't handle all that great, but was fast in a straight line, and had a nice lumpy idle.  Beautiful all original interior.  Like every other nice car I have ever built, had to sell it to pay some "important" BS bill..

My last project was a 6cly 3 on the tree 1969 Camaro.  Put a big block / Turbo 350 auto in it, along with front discs, rebuilt suspension, ect..  That car was crazy fast and fun.  Had to sell it,  of course.  Now that the ex wife is EX, the next car I do, I will be able to keep.. ;D

For me its the 70 Roadrunner. Although I liked all the mopars Cuda, Challenger, Super Bee, RT, etc.. I think back in the muscle car days Chrysler had a big edge in how they made their suspensions. The roadrunner I had road like a caddy. Well almost. I think the 70 Plymouth GTX 440 gave the most performance per dollar at the time. You could get one for $3,300. It was a lot of car for the money, and an awesome looking car. Got-a love those big engines.

1965 Buick Gran Sport with the 390 horse 401 nailhead and power glide trans. My dad bought it new. I bought it from him in 1973,rebuilt the motor. Car was a real sleeper in the street wars here on Central Ave in Phoenix. Must admit to winning a few impromptu street light races in my mis-spent youth. Yes I still have the car, albeit in storage.

Ok here's a Quiz ...

This was a True Sleeper (definitely not your fathers Sunday driver) The year was 1969 , and this Baby rolled out of Detroit going  0-60 in 5 seconds flat , and  burning up 1/4 miles turning low 13's. It boasted a massive 440 under the hood.
It ate most Roadrunners , Cudas, mustangs , GTO's and the like for lunch, and went back for more.

Can you name the make and model?

1. '65 Chevelle Malibu SS 396. Dan Blocker/Bunkie Knudsen's convertible, if possible, please.
2. '65 Tri-Power Pontiac GTO.
3. '64(?) Dodge or Plymouth factory Ramcharger. Black, FS post hardtop, heater/radio delete, lightened body, etc.; 426 Max Wedge or Hemi, I'm not picky.

Yes I believe its a Dodge Dart GTS. Although most of the darts with the larger cubic inch engines had the 340. The lighter weight of the Darts made them a quick car even with the 340. I think the Darts with the 440's were kind of rare. I never knew anyone in this area that owned one. Most likely there was less than 1,000 made. I figure the ones with the 440 were hard to beat on the track. If you lined up a Dart 440 and a roadrunner, GTX, or an RT all with the same rears the Dart would most likely win every time because of its lighter weight.
