crickett extreme 17hmr

129 at cabelas its only 3lbs how accurate are they it would be the perfect walk around rifle for squirrel

An NEF Sportster can be had for a few bucks more = more gun for the money: bull barrel, scope rail, etc.; heavier, though.

It's a bit on the light side for my taste...at least for off-hand shooting. That said, I do remember reading some articles of shooters (teenage girls) doing quite well with theirs.
Also, I read an interesting article about a year ago in Fur-Fish&Game about an Alaskan wolf trapper. He used his little Cricket with .22 shorts to dispatch trapped wolves. Did an excellent job and the weight of the little carbine didn't bog him down. It was alot easier to shoot than a handgun too. Keep us posted on yours if you go that route! --- Mike
