Is the Winchester Model 60A an accurate rifle?
« on: November 06, 2003, 08:58:43 AM »
I just aquired a Winchester model 60A from a friend for FREE!! He said that it was given to him and he never shot it (although after cleaning it I can see that it was used a lot).  The bore looks perfect, but the bolt has some wear on it.  Anyway, this is my first bolt action .22 and I hope it is more accurate than my standard Ruger 10/22.  How accurate should this rifle be?

The rifle is missing the peep sight though.  Is their any way I could get another one for it?

Also, is there anything I should know about what to feed this rifle.

Thanks I will post a pic in a couple of days.

Like all 22's you have to try all the brands of ammo to see what your gun likes the best. If you have not done that with your 10/22 also I would suggest that. If the bore is good no reason why the Winchester should not shoot well.  Try Numerich Gun Parts Corp for a peep for it or do a search on the web for gun parts if they do not have it. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
