I've emailed Ramshot two or three times in past several years, requesting load data for cartridges not listed on their load/data site.  I'd bought some Ramshot TAC, Hunter, and Big Game to try for first time in the half dozen or so centerfire cartridges I reload.   Johan at Ramshot promptly responded each time with useful suggestions/data.

However, last time I emailed Ramshot, I had a concern with published load data for a Ramshot powder I had used in the reloading of some 30-06 cartridges.  Had loaded a box of 30-06 ammo with some bullets I'd used with other powders, with about a grain more than the published Ramshot start data.  I took a still military 1903A03 Smith-Corona rifle and a sporter M1917 Winchester to range to try the Ramshot load for the first time.  First round I fired with the load was in the 1903A03.  Recoil litterally knocked the heck out of me.  I'd shot this rifle numerous times with other powders before, always using start load type data and was familiar with the rifles recoil, which could be stout but nothing like I had just experienced.   I checked the brass for excessive pressure and noted some flattening of the primer.   After one shot, I switched to my M1917 sporter.  The action on a 1917 is a lot stronger than a 1903 and my 1917 had a recoil pad.  I fired one round in the M1917, again I had a recoil much greater than I could ever remember with this rifle.  I ceased shooting the Ramshot loads.  Later, I would pull my bullets and remeasure the powder charge, checked the bullets and etc. and rechecked the published load data.  I could find nothing wrong.

I then emailed Johan directly, using his return email address from earlier replies to my inquiries, describing what had happened and questioned the correctness of the published load data I'd used.  Sorry, don't remember if it was Hunter or Big Game powder I'd used.  Perhaps it was because I had used his return email address and not emailed Ramshots customer Service.  Never did get a reply from Johan, which kinda surprised me since he'd always been so prompt and helpful to my earlier emails.  By the way, I reduced the powder charge over 3 grains in my remaining reloads in question and shot the ammo.   I've since used the powder in other caliber cartridges, not noticing anything excessive about the recoil of rifle I was using it in.
