Phil Harris from the Deadliest Catch dies
« on: February 10, 2010, 04:56:26 AM »
One of my favorite shows has lost a valueable member.  Phil  Harris of the Cornelia Maria died after a stroke in early January.  He will be sadly missed.  Somehow the show will be different now..He was as rough as they come. I pray his boys can pick up and continue fishing.   There was a lot of stuff put on by being on tv, but you could tell he loved his children.  He was trying to make them men by being self reliant and that has been lost in todays generation.  He was only 53.  Makes you think what unhealthy habits can bring...

One of my favorite shows as well. I thought Phil was a good guy. At 53, that is way to young to go. Smoking like chimney and not tending to your health takes it toll.

I am very sorry to hear that. I watched the show often and felt he was a good guy. Dale
