I visited a friend the other day to see his new find, a cannon ball. When he brought it out, from where he had begun cleaning it with a wire brush, he tossed it to me from about 3'. I caught it and looked down to see the wooden fuse, or what was left of it. He seemed not too alarmed and thought that gunpowder eroded over time and would not explode. It does not, unless its been very wet.
Inspect your finds carefully, and if in doubt, have an expert check it. It's not worth life or limb.............and no, I don't know how to disarm them.
