Garmin! Help!!!!!
« on: November 06, 2003, 04:19:53 PM »
I have a Garmin GPSIII, yes I know, they don't make this thing anymore. How do I get it to show me the way to a selected waypoint (one that's already been logged)? Please, step by step, if possible. I had a hard enough time figuring out how to set the clock on this thing. The instruction booklet doesn't seem to be written in English, at least for me. Any help I can get would be appreciated by this "GPS DUMMY".  Say I leave my truck after setting the location of the truck as "HOME" and hunt till dark. How do I get it to show me the way back to the "HOME" waypoint? Maybe I should of stayed with my compass. I can still find north with it at least and been several hundred dollars better off.

S.B. do not feel like the Lone Ranger I am aware of a few folks who have issue GPSIII's that have found the learning curve to be long.

I do not have a GPSIII but I went to the Garmin support page and I believe your answer can be found at the bottom of page 15 of your manual.  It basically follows the path provided by cknight98.

When I bought my Garmin Legend I downloaded the manual from the Garmin Site.  A little larger for old eyes.
There is a learning process to effectively using a gps.  Do not throw your compass and map away!
