What we post
« on: February 11, 2010, 06:41:46 AM »
As trappers, we face constant threats by those that oppose what we do.
Also being one of the smallest groups,we are at the forefront of attacks by many anti groups.
It is with this in mind, I ask all of you to be careful in what you post.
Photos of catches are fine--just do not post any showing blood or non-target(non-furbearing) catches.
Our discussions should also steer away from any non-targets or dispatch discussions.(if you need help with a dispatch question, just send me a private message).
The majority of people coming in as guests, do not trap. It is in our best interests to show trapping in a positive light.
Lets not give any ammunition to those that want to destroy us.

I find this forum very interesting and informative!  I'm not a trapper nor do I think I ever will be....but I've been wrong before.  Bog is sooo right on this one.  As much as we all hate to be PC in what we write or say....it makes good sense.  Thanks for letting a guy look in on this time honored tradition!!

Well said..

Tom, I'm not a trapper but I enjoy reading here and checking out the pics. I have never been offended or shocked by anythinng on this forum. But <sigh> THIS post may be the best ammo you could give an anti to use against trapping.........think about it.

Cuts, I did think long and hard before posting this.
It is the only way I can communicate, with everyone on here.
We are never going to change the way true anti-trappers feel- just as they will never change me. It is the eveyday person ,that has yet to form an opinion on trapping(and hunting and fishing as far as that goes), that comes in here to see what trapping is all about- that I am concerned with.
If I made a mistake by posting this, I am sorry. But until I can come up with another way to impress some things upon our members- this will have to do.

<sigh> I understand Tom, I really do! But I don't have to like it! >:( The men who opened the way west in this country were hunters and trappers, proud individualists who started a tradition of self sufficiancy that should continue forever! I hate it that we have reached such a low point that a bunch of pantywaisted, liberal, socialistdemonrat, bleeding hearts can affect how we talk among ourselves about something as important as our heritage of hunting and trapping.
 <RANT MODE OFF> :-\

Please carry on, forget my little gaff here. :-X
