taurus tracker for plinking and small game hunting
« on: February 11, 2010, 11:32:07 AM »
I am new to handgun hunting, I own a Smith 657-6 hunter model in 41mag & absolutely love it! I shot a doe at 20 paces quartering too, the bullet entered the base of the neck exited the off side rib cage & she instantly dropped. I was thinking of getting a Tracker in 22mag or 17hmr, I would like for any kind of feedback on the accuracy of these guns and any in the field stories you can give.      Thanks jh41mag!

I have a 6" tracker .17 hmr that was a dog for the first 100 rounds and then it really started to break in and now it is an excellent shooter. My only regret is that i wish i would have gotten a .22 instead because i dont think that there is enough benefit to the hmr in such a short barrel. So i can definately recoment the tracker but i would go with the .22 because of the cost of ammo - i dont think you gain enough in the short barrel to justify the price of the hmr ammo
