Newbie Question About Colt 1911 Airpistol
« on: November 06, 2003, 05:41:44 PM »
Hi,
I just purchased a Colt 1911 air gun and I have to say it is one nice looking gun..........until you flip it over.
Across the entire gun & barrel, five lines deep are words and warnings!
Since it's slightly engraved it almost appears white against the black gun..

Besides the standard "This is not a toy" warning it states, "Make sure you read your free instruction manual from crosman" It has there entire address. Colts address, and  who actually makes it...  There’s a story on the back of my gun.

My question is , could anyone suggest something safe and easy to tone this down. It really ruins the esthetics of the gun.

Really appreciate any help.
Thanks!

I don't understand that either. In the space that it takes to write all that stuff, they could just write the rules for safe gun handling.
Safety first

5 lines deep across the entire top of the gun is out of control. My P1 has very little writing and it's not scratched in ( its the same color of the barrel) …...a beautiful thing.  Dosn't take away from the weapon.
I think I might have to go with a Bluing kit. I was really hoping for another easier/safer  solution...
