Regular Encore vs. Pro Hunter

I'm in the market for a new muzzleloader.  I know I want another Encore, stainless/synthetic.   Is there an advantage the pro hunter model has over the regular encore?  I've owned the encore and loved it but is the extra money justified?  Thanks.

In my opinion  No the first encore I bought was the pro hunter and to me after getting a regular encore I felt that I had wasted my money You are paying for a little engraving and a swing hammer which I found was not all that great so put it in line and left it there. Now if you are getting the one with limsaver stock it could be of some advantage.

You get a speed breach XT, a power rod, flex tech energy burners. that is just what I can think of off the top of my head.

I say encore is the way to go that's what I have and my brother has a prohunter just a few more bells and whistles. I added swing away primer ejecter and now I can pull the breech like the prohunter for a whole lot less money. Like Deaconllb said unless the energy burners are important to you go for it.

I have the SST Encore and love it!! I too installed the swing type extractor as well as; BellM spring kit, BellM oversized hinge pin and Pro-Hunter syn stock w/ energy burners (I bought off ebay). She wears a Nikon Omega scope w/Burris rings. If I were to buy another one it would definately be the Endevour

My Encore is the standard model with the walnut stock.  It has the stronger hammer spring, oversized hinge pin, stronger locking springs, hammer extension, and swing away extractor.  The scope is a Zeiss 4X33.  The gun with sling weighs nearly nine pounds.  No recoil reducing stock is needed on a gun that heavy.  Recoil is light when using 120 grain loads of powder and a 250 grain bullet:  Recoil is quite tolerable when using the same powder load and the 350 grain FPB bullet.

I cannot speak to the encore. I bought the black composite Pro Hunter and love it. I got the T-hole, SS, 50 caliber and have had 0 problems w/it in the field or range.  It is easy to clean, the recoild ebery bars in the stock relieves a ton of energy that my buddy gets into his shoulder shooting the Encore w/ the same load,  Now you can get an encore, add the peices and parts or you can go ahead and get the Pro Hunter or Endeavor and start shooting.  I would stronly reccomend Stainless Steel no matter which way you go.  Good luck!.

I have the pro hunter I bought it with a 30-06 barrel and just picked up a ML barrel once i added the swing away primer extractor im a happy camper. I dont feel to bad i paid $300 for the barrel Nicon pro staff 3x9 scope with quick release Leupold base and rings. The primer extractor was just over $16 on EBAY and Cabelas has a power ramrod for $20 so for $336 im set up and im still under the price of a new barrel. Im also verry pleased with the accurcy that ive been able to acheve. just my thoughts. buy what makes you happy.
