Steel Tube Stock

I can get a  tube that is 4 in. round and a 1- 7/8s bore X 5 foot long, What could be it made into and what about a mold or what to shoot in it. Thanks.

You need to know what it is besides steel, 1018, 4140, DOM, seamless etc.

You would have to make a chambered breech plug or sleeve reinforce the area over the chamber to have a barrel that met the forum safety recommendations.  Otherwise, the wall thickness is too thin.

its 1018 seamless.

1018 is GOOD.  Strong, will handle both the pressures and the repition.

Seamless is GOOD.  Does not have porosity where products of combustion will eat away and eventually cause a KABOOM.

Material - OK, now the design.

You could make 2 (yes 2) .40 scale Dahlgren Boatguns, 27.4" long tube!  Fit a breechplug, with round cascabel;  thread the cascabel with 7/8X6 Acme thread....
