a rebore to .338?

How expensive is it to have a .308 diameter barrel rebored to .338?  Can this be done to any barrel, or does the barell need to be extra thick.... if you know what I mean.

About $300, site sponsor Wayne York of Oregunsmithing has done many rebores/rechambers for members here including Graybeard and myself, he needs about 2 calibers increase to make it work, minimum barrel diameter is .550" for up to .375" cal, he did a 338-06 from a 25-06 Ultra for me, Mac got one done too, he's doing a 260 Rem from a 243 Superlight for me right now!!

Wayne recently rebored and rechambered a 22 Hornet to 25 Remington. I have shot it with loads I had loaded many years ago for a Remington Model 14, but so far I have not have yet had time to load up anything from the fireformed brass I now have. I am really looking forward to doing that, just to see how she can really do. I have some 120 gr. Nosler Partitions and some 90 gr. older Barnes X-Bullets and some others that I am anxious to try.

Wayne now has a 357 barrel that he is rechambering to 35 Remington for me. Also looking forward to wringing that one out.
