New 350 Rem mag

Just recently purchased a Ruger Mk II in 350 Remington magnum. Took the plastic stock off and just got her bedded up in a laminated stock mounted a Nikon 3x9 and took her to the range. All I had for ammo was a partial box of Remington factory and apparently the gun likes it. Shot this 4 shot group at 100 yds after getting it dialed in.

Good looking rifle, and an even better looking group. When Remington brought back the 350 Rem Mag. I purchaced one of there 673 guide guns. To say I am more than pleased in the "ORIGINAL" short mag is an understament. As you work with your rifle I'm sure you will find out what I have, (I guess there may be an exception), but, anything so far that I have put through a 35 has shown great potential for accuracy. So far my 350 has grouped 220 gr Speer and 200 Rem P.S.P.C.L. much like yours. (I would have been happy shooting just the Speer's but got 500 of the Rem's cheap, would have prefered the R.N. so as to also use in my Marlin, 35 Rem., oh well) I have not used any 250 gr. bullets in my rifle leaving those to my Whelen and S.T.A. The 220 gr Speer's have also accounted for a couple of deer and 1 Black Bear. The bear went the farthest 25yds +,-, the deer gave it up right there.

I have also experienced the same with any 35 I have owned. I am actually going to try some of the Speer 220's loaded to around 2400-2500 fps for deer and bear this fall.

Congratulations on your new addition. I have a 350 in a Rem 673, absolutely love it.  I shoot the 220 speers at about 2650 if I remember correctly.  Very accurate and kill awesome.  I have heard the ruger's like yours have a little longer magazine so you will be able to shoot different 225 and 250 grain bullets.  Don't be afraid of the speer 220 flat nose, I have killed several deer and know a guy who has used those out of his rem 600 to take 15 or so elk.  Have fun :)

Ruger rifles suck and can't shoot for beans.   ;)

I my Ruger 7mm RM at the range today.  Last time I hit a clay pigeon at 600 yards but it took me three shots (I had never shot that rifle past 500 before).  Today I tried at 600 again with the 7mm RM and on the third and last shot thought I hit one.  Later inspection showed I hit just under and flipped it over instead.  Damn Ruger!

By contrast, my Interarms actioned 6.5-06 Ackley did hit one at 600.

I have taken several deer with my Ruger 350 Mag, using the Speer 220 gr FP bullet. MV has been around 2,560 fps with either IMR 4320 or H322. It was easy to find an accurate load with either powder and the 220 gr Speer. The ranges I've taken deer have been from 30 -120 yards. If the deer do manage to run after the shot, they don't go far and there has been for me a massive blood trail. I'm well pleased with this combo on deer. I can't say anything about what this would do to bear, since there are no bears where I hunt but I suspect it would work well. Congrats on a great rfile in a great caliber.

2400-2500fps should be ideal, in fact I just looked it up and My load of H4895 puts the 220's at 2450. You can load it faster but, 2450fps was my most accurate, not that another 100fps wasn't. It has worked for me. good luck and have fun!!  :) CRASH87

Great looking rifle, great caliber too! There is a lot to be said about a heavier well constructed bullet traveling at a modest velocity. Not much you won't be able to do with that rifle.

I have a Ruger M-77 in 350 Rem Mag, and a Remington 600 as well.  The Remington only shoots 200gr bullets period due to the short magazine.  The Ruger will shoot 225gr Nosler partitions as well.  I use both from tree stands, and found they are devistating on Black Bears at 15 to 45 yards.
