Please help with Gold Cup National Match serial number!?

A friend of mine is about to acquire a this gun, it's a 9mm. The seller says it is a 500pcs limited edition. The serial number is GCNM 4XX

I did a search on proofhouse.com where I couldn't find anything!

Can anybody help me? Would like to know how old it is, and if any a history on this series.

"The Blue Book of gun values " list one in 9mm -
 Elite IX Gold Cup National Match , 9 mm para cal , ss or blue , marked "GCNM" on right side and "ELITE IX - 9 mm Luger " on left side . This is from 26 edit. New $895
