No, I do not think that I need the 140 MOA. If one day I am capable to reach out to 800 or 1,000 yds, I will need 30-40 MOA to get there. Which equates to a scope with 80 MOA total adjustment or at least 60 MOA with a 20 MOA base. What makes the scope so appealing to me is the 56mm objective, and the
35 mm tube for $440. It also comes with the rings, sunshade, and caps.
http://www.opticsplanet.net/millett-6-25x56mm-lrs-1-matte-illuminated-multicoated-reticle-1-4-moa-click-long-rang.html The next closest thing is the Bushnell 4200 6-24x50 with a 30mm tube and a total of 50 MOA adjustments (if I ever wanted to reach out there, I would need a 30 MOA base or a 20MOA base with shimmed rings). This scope though is $550. I know Bushnell owns Millet, and if the quality of the LRS is similar or better than the 4200 series, I do not see why I should buy the Bushnell. Does any body know if the LRS quality is the same as the Bushnell 4200 series?
I also looked at the Vortex line and I really like them. They enough internal MOA adjustments, with a small 10 MOA base, but lack the 35mm tube and the 56mm objective. I can find these for $450-$500.
The Millet has it all in a very affordable price. Does anybody recommend another line or brand of scopes that has at least 60 MOA of internal adjustments, at least a 50mm objective, and a variable power of at least 24x, with GOOD QUALITY??
Teddy12b - what kind of gun did the guy have at the range with the LRS?
I appreciate your replies.
