I spent 9 years in the nuke industry. 4.5 years wolf creek ks. 4.5 years Sharon Harris NC. To the best of my thinking. It took around 7 or 8 years to get Wolf Creek up and on line.
Sharon Harris started with 4 reactors and we ended up covering up 3 and putting one on line. That took about 10 years or so. The vessels for the 3 units we didnot build were sold to China for Scrape if the story I got then was true.
The last estimate I saw for a new plant would be 18 to 20 billion dollars.
If these two units are built the tax payer will get soaked.
The big wigs will get serviced and an area of georiga will get over run by millions of illeagels that will over tax the locals.
If any thing comes out of the mouth of the undocumented worker, beware. Its not for the good of the common man.
Remember, all you like are guns, reliegon and pickup trucks.

It will when the oil runs out. Think about it. With the money spent in Iraq, we could have had 40 new reactors. And per what some are saying in this thread, online already. The price of oil would be lower, screwing our OPEC PALS. And we would have that many more US jobs.

Lets think about this.
democrats are loosing all over, oboma is sinking, oboma says we need to build
nukes and everyone jumps up and says "he be de man" lets relect the demos
oboma and the demos. are all right. Then guess what later on "de man"
can't get the releases needed to build nukes, but he and his fools have
been re-elected, they are sorry they could not get it done, it is what it is.

THIS LOOK AWFULL SCAMMY
DOES ANYONE WANT TO BET WHEN ONE GETS BUILT?

It is hard to recoup the cost without the taxpayer taking over. We pay both ways, our taxes build it and then we pay for the service.
The real cost of a nuke is enviromental, fuel storage, and decommission. If you look at all of them the tax payer is the cash cow. There is some cost to the utility but we are the payers.
I work for a Utility now, we own part of a nuke plant that was purchased several years ago during its build. We have tried to give it away, no cost, just take it. There has been no takers. With everyone looking at decommission and its cost they want touch it.
If you dig into this you will find names that have surfaced in this admin before, that will make billions.

Yes Powderman, more lies, that's exactly it. What really surprises me is how many people jump on board so fast with this administration considering what they already passed into legislation, what it really was, and how it didn't work, and they still want to jump on board the next new thing that gets thrown out there.  Latest poll says 6% of the people think the stim/scam package worked.  7% think Elvis is still alive. More people think Elvis is alive then think anything he has done so far is good or working. Think about that.  This guy could sign anything put in front of him no matter what it really says, Congress could have things in there that actually stop a nuke program cold, and pass more funding for the study of pig oder, and most people would not have a clue until later, after it's too late and they emptied our pockets even more. To top all this off...they come up with a couple Republicrats to climb on board bad legislation and die hard republicans jump on that wagon too...just because, no other reason, just because.

Well there ya go I got all wound up again, I have to settle down now.
