Help! Which one? Geissele, Timney or Jewell for the AR 15
« on: February 16, 2010, 11:16:36 AM »
Does anyone have any experience with these triggers?  What are the pros and cons as all about $200-$300?  Probably will take it in to a gunsmith for installation.  Looking for the best one as I do not want to buy another trigger later.  Thanks for the help!

Get a Timney.  I have the 4 lb solid trigger on one of my AR's, and it's the best trigger I've ever used.  I'm not sure about the others, but my Timney was drop-in, so you should be able to do it yourself.  All you need to do is check the pin diameter before you order.

I have the timney in my Bushy NM Target....I like it alot.  Pretty easy to install as well.  I have timneys in 80% of my rifles.  The rest don't need em.

You may want to take a look at the AR Gold triggers from American Trigger Tech.  I've heard a lot of good reviews.

I have a Geissele two stage trigger in my CMP service rifle.  CMP rules require a 4 1/2 lb trigger pull.  The first stage is 3 lb and the second stage is 1 1/2lb.  It works great and was easy to install.  With this trigger I have the safety and reliability of a 3lb trigger and the precision of 1 1/2lb trigger.  They also make one for match rifles that can be set for a lighter trigger pull.

I do my own triggers, probably much the same way as the Bill, Lloyd mentioned. I think Bill is in Colorado Springs, Co. isn't he?
If you know what your doin, you can get a nice 3# pull, and there is also a way of putting in a trigger stop for over travel.
It will save you a lot of money, and you will have a great trigger.
