charles daly ems??
« on: February 17, 2010, 06:21:23 AM »
i have a guy wanting to trade me a charles daly ems commander length 1911 for my vaquero
his gun is blued with what appears to be all the bells and whistles that you could ask for on a 1911 i.e. beavertail grip safety, skeletonized hammer, lowered ejection port, novak style sights.
his gun comes with  a total of six mags a fobus styled paddle holster and the plastic box they come in.
my gun is the little birdshead 3 3/4 barrel 45lc and has a set of elkhorn stag grips on it
what do you guys think of the charles daly ems gun? good ? bad? ugly?
let me know
thanks
sureshot

Quality of the CD pistols can be hit or miss, much like so many others currently manufactured in that part of the world. Be sure and run a box of ball ammo through the pistol before you commit to a trade. That should tell you if the gun currently functions. I have owned one of the 3" stainless CD pistols for about 6yrs. No function problems with the one I have. It's worth the $300 I paid for it NIB. Good luck!

I learned my lesson years ago.  If ya trade them or sell them, you're gonna miss em.
I keep everything I have, if I want something else...I save up the dough.

It takes a lot for me too trade one.
I have always wanted it back.
I am trying to be realistic this time around.
I love my FN 5.7x28--but it really doesn't serve a purpose. It is a good weapon and if I had 50 acres, a pond and a dam--the pond would be polluted with dead critters and lead. But, I don't and probably won't have one.
I have the Scadium  smith and just don't like it. I want a steel Smith with a hammer.
I am going to Austin for the show and taking both along as trade bait.
What do you boys think they are worth in trade? I am thinking $650 for either. Am I realistic.
Blessings
