Called H&R today
« on: February 17, 2010, 01:09:41 PM »
Very polite customer service by the way. :)   I asked the man about the .308 survivor. He informed me that none had been shipped out since late last year and none were in production this quarter. He said that if I called back at the end of March he could inform me of their upcoming manufacturing plans for that particular model. I was sad. Six weeks away I can find out if they're even going to make the gun I want next quarter..  :-\

Soo.. Having somewhat given up hope... I started shopping around online when I got home for other rifles to see if there was anything else I may want. For whatever reason, despite my hours of previous searching... I stumble upon a website with one for sale in Utah. So .. for $271.00 my new Survivor .308 will be at my local FFL next week. (shipped in 5-7 days)

I CAN'T WAIT! I tried to convey my enthusiasm to my wife and newborn son but was presented with a less than equal response. My wife looked at me like I was nuts and my 1 mo/old son farted. Clearly at least it was a "moving" experience to him. (I know he was really excited about it deep down)  ;D

Looking forward to next week. And thank you to those who have helped answer my questions and frustrations in finding the firearm I was looking for up till now.

-Dustin

Sounds like the ultimate sign of approval from your young son!!
Yesterday is history--tomorrow is a mystery--today is a gift!---That is why they call it the present!
